A count of 1,2, 3 is called, followed by the name of an object such as “Tree,” “tiger,” or “banana”. The players jump into the water and try to imitate the object just before they land to a judge or team of judges.

All the kids need to stand by the pool, ready to run and jump in at a moment’s notice.

All the players stand with their backs to the pool, standing shoulder to shoulder. Coins are tossed into the pool, one by one, at different spots in the pool. The aim of the players is to catch the coins before they float down onto the floor. Coins that land on the floor are invalid and cannot be collected. The players get to keep all the coins they can successfully snatch up.

Any players inside the pool while freeze is called should then stop moving. Any players outside the pool while the freeze is called are free to move unlike the other players.

At the count of 1, 2, 3, the players jump into a pool and make their way onto a raft. Then they pick up pool noodles and then the fight begins. Each player has to noodle joust the other players off their raft. The last person standing wins.

Designate two opposite areas of the pool as “safe houses”.

Divide kids into two teams. One team is made up of swimmers, the other team is made up of setters. The setters each get a hula hoop and try to suspend it in the water while floating. The swimmers all have to swim through the hula hoops successfully.

Each player will need a pool noodle and a raft. Situate the rafts at the center and the pool noodles at random spots.

Everyone’s familiar with games like Marco Polo and cannonball, but with a little bit more creativity, you could have so much more.

Keep changing who’s “it” every single round. The last person to be tagged wins.

One kid is “it” and stands with a pool noodle. This kid is the bopper.

One player is “it” and has to catch the others. When the player that’s “it” tags another player, the tagged one should freeze in place and cannot move. Tagged players can be unfrozen if another player swims between their feet while shouting “Unfreeze!”

One player is “it” and stands out of the pool. The other players get on the side of the pool. The player who’s “it” calls out a category, such as “Movies”. Then they start listing movies. If the swimmers like any of the movies being called out, then they swim as quietly as possible to the other side.

Scatter some prizes or coins on the pool’s floor. The swimmers have to collect as many objects as possible while making their way through the hula hoop obstacle course. The person to collect the most, the fastest, wins.

Swimming pools are fun no matter the time of year.

The best imitation of the object wins the game.

The chickens should try to bring the other chicken off their base. They can do this by poking, pulling, pushing, tickling, and splashing the other player. The person on top is the attacker, the person on the bottom is the mover.

The first person to get bopped becomes the next bopper. The last person to get bopped is the winner.

The goal is simply to swim while turning their hair into the funniest hairdo possible. Imitation of famous movie characters is a bonus and should be rewarded extra points by the judges.

The goal of the bopper is to stand at the center and bop as many people that swim by. The goal of the bobber is to bob and dodge the pool noodle from whacking them.

The goal of the players is to swim back and forth between the ends of the pool without being tagged. The players can travel out of the pool for this game, but only for about 3 steps out of the water or so.

The goal of the witch is to tag any player moving through the center.

The other kids have to swim from end to end between the pool’s walls.

The person who’s “it” can turn around and try to dive into the water to tag them at any time. Anyone who gets tagged is out and can choose the next category in the game.

The witch has a freeze power, which they can activate at any time by shouting, “Freeze!”

The witch has to tag all the players. If everyone is frozen, then the witch has to swim back into their safe house to trigger the unfreeze magic spell by shouting “Unfreeze!” while at their safe house.

The witch player stands at one safe house, while the remaining players start at the other safe house.

This article will illustrate some fun games kids of all ages can play right in their backyard.

This game is freeze tag except on water.

This game is ideal for players of all ages and hair lengths, but those with longer hair have an advantage.

This game is the same as its above-ground counterpart but played in water to be extra safe. Divide into teams and have each team grab one end of a pool rope. The teams must use their might and comedy skills to successfully pull the rope into their end and get the other team to release their rope. Don’t be afraid to give this your all. Comedy is your best weapon in this game. Make your opponents groan at bad jokes to get them to release the rope.

This game only requires a roll of coins.

This game requires 4 players at a minimum. Two players are the “base”, and two other players are the “chickens” who stand on their respective teammate’s shoulders.
